I love the DI-524 and DI-604 routers because they allow you to recover quickly. When my girlfriend called up a certain DSL-phone company to fix a problem, the technician totally tore the whole network apart, tossed the router away, forced her to install unneeded software and left the whole thing unoperable. I drove up that weekend, and in 5 minutes had diagnosed the problem, took 1 minute to reinsert the router and restored the whole network to its originally healthy condition.

The problem? A combo printer/fax/copier telephone jack malfunctioned, pulling the DSL down.

The solution? Only using a D-Link router to restore sanity to an insane situation.

I have been using D-Link wireless networking products for several years with satisfaction and ongoing support from your company (regular updates, detailed user manuals, etc.). A couple of friends selected another well-known brand for their wireless networking routers but they have never been able to set them up! I tried to help them and spent several hours to make things work, but eventually they had to take the right decision: send the other routers back to the manufacturer and select D-Link wireless routers, they could set them up very quickly and are now very happy users. This router [DI-524] saved me a lot of money. It allowed me to create small (4 desktops / 10 laptops (wifi)) SOHO network. It allowed me to get maximum out of my wireless G cards, allowing speed up to 54mbit/s, which really impressed me. I wasn't really sure which router to choose - [competitor] or D-Link, but when I actually got myself this router - I understood - D-Link is good.

Setting up WI-FI with D-LINK components was a snap. I am using a DI-524 router and DWL-G510 PCI cards and have an excellent signal across 3 floors in our home. No need for extra power or antennas.

D-LINK's constant upgrading of their drivers, even to legacy gear like their DI-524, is an example of their dedication to providing stable, simple to use WI-FI gear for customers.

The on-line support is great. My request was handled promptly and competently within moments on a weekend day.

I had previously owned another brand's 802.11g router. It worked alright with my computers, but not with my Sony PSP. I had contacted both Sony and the makers of the router for technical assistance with no help from either company. After seveal weeks of devising and executing my own tests I came to determine that the router was the cause of this problem. That weekend I went out and bought my D-Link DI-524 and not only can I now connect my PSP to the network, my computers are transferring data faster.

It was unbelievable on how easy this was to set-up. The DI-524 did everything it was suppose to do. I did the set-up in less than 10 minutes including the WPA, MAC security and DHCP configurations. I also did the firmware update right away which was also very simple. I configured the router and I was surfing the web within no time.

I own a two story house and I got a 54 Mbps even in the basement while the router was on the second floor!!!

I didn’t have to call tech support so I can’t comment on that. I am going to purchase a wireless NIC for my other machines from D-link too.

I highly recommend this product for anyone who needs a good/simple wireless solution.

I'm on a wireless internet connection with a fixed IP, and I tried to get two other brands of routers working for DAYS, but I took them back and picked up a DI-524, and it amazingly worked the first time through! thank you so much, I wish I'd tried D-Link first!

I set up a home wireless network with the DI-524 last weekend. I had some problems with another computer, so I told my son I would help him when I finished troubleshooting the other computer.

Much to my surprise he had been surfing the web the minute he installed the software and card. I also needed tech support for the other computer. Every tech I spoke with was helpful, courteous and very knowledgeable.

Don't know a lot about networks and was afraid it would take a long time to set up my home network. But WOW in about 5 minutes, after turning the DI-524 Router on I was up and running. All my MACs are working great, share files and printer wireless. Can sit at my bar in the basement and work on line. THANKS D-Link for a great experience.
