How to Access the BIOS on a Samsung Laptop

Method 1: Function Key During Boot

Shutdown or Restart: If your laptop is currently on either shut it down completely or restart it.

Power On: Press the power button to start the laptop.

Rapidly Tap the Key: Immediately after startup begin repeatedly tapping the designated BIOS entry key.

Samsung laptops typically have these BIOS keys:

  • F2 (most common)
  • F10
  • Esc (less common)

BIOS Accessed: If successful you will see the BIOS configuration screen.

Method 2: Windows Settings (Windows 10/11)

Access Settings: Open the Windows Settings menu (Windows key + I or via the Start Menu).

Update and Security (Windows 10): Click on Update and Security and then select Recovery from the side menu.

Advanced Startup: Find the Advanced Startup section and click Restart Now.

To the BIOS: Troubleshoot –> Advanced Options –> UEFI Firmware Settings –> Restart. Your laptop will reboot and take you into the BIOS.

Important Things

Act Quickly: Laptops boot fast so have your finger ready on the BIOS access key right after hitting the power button.

Windows Must Work: Method 2 only works if your Windows installation is operational. If your laptop won’t boot into Windows, method 1 is required.


Model Specifics Matter: Your exact Samsung laptop model’s manual will confirm the correct BIOS key.

If It Doesn’t Work: Try rapidly tapping other function keys F1, F12, Del in case the other ones don’t work.
